Initial Brainstorming/ Story Boarding

Hello blog! My group and I are working on our opening clip and we're dabbling on a few ideas but let me tell you about our top one!

Title: “Betrayed Shadows”

Genre: Mystery, thriller

Characters: Beth Sinclair (protagonist), Julie Bennett (kidnapper/friend one), Dirk Derk (friend two)

Costuming: Protagonist wears - White tank top with a white flowy mesh see through shirt over it and some blue jeans and white shoes.

Lowkey lighting.

Thought process- Our thought process behind the scenes was that we wanted to capture the chilling thriller of betrayal within a friend group and also the concept of a high school thriller. We discussed the setting being mostly in the forest, we found that to be the most mysterious setting for our story. The plot of the story was decided to be the friend to be the kidnapper because it was the most exaggerated plot because mostly people don't see it coming. We were brainstorming on what the turn of events would be, we came up with her getting hit over the head, stalked, killed, we had plenty of ideas but the one we decided on made the, most sense. We also had plenty of ideas on who the kidnapper would be, our ideas were a random stranger or a friend of the main character, and we chose the friend because it would make a better story because the main character wouldn't suspect that one of her own friends would want to hurt her. The color we chose for the protagonist was white to mostly symbolize her innocence in the whole thing, so the audience can tell like she's a nice person and overall, something bad happens to her.

In the bathroom as Julie gets ready. She is fixing her hair and stuff, taking to Beth

JULIE

(Calling out) Can you hurry up? They’re gonna be waiting for us

BETH

(through the stall) I’m almost done

JULIE

(as Beth walks out of the stall) I’ll meet you outside

BETH

(as Julie is leaving) Wait Jules-

Julie is already gone.

Beth sighs and begins washing her hands before she hears something and pauses. She shakes it off and keeps washing her hands and fixing her hair. She pauses again and turns around slightly when she hears something, looking for a little longer. She turns back around and begins putting lip gloss on before hearing a whisper and getting annoyed, finally calling out.

BETH

Hello?

When no one answers she begins walking alongside the stalls before pausing at one and standing in front of it. She starts crouching down to look under before Julie calls back into the bathroom.

JULIE

(frustrated) Beth come on!!!

Spooked by the sudden noise, Beth bolts back up and shakes it off.

BETH

(Her voice wavering) Coming!

She grabs her stuff and quickly rushes out, leaving who, or what, ever in the bathroom.

The location changed to the woods

BETH

Do you know where they are?

She asks walking alongside them.

JULIE

Somewhere in...there

She trails off looking forward to the abyss of tree

DIRK

I’m pretty sure we’re lost. Theres no lake..or people around

Beth sighs and continues following behind, looking uneasy. She falters and looks behind her for a moment before continuing.

BETH

Where did..you go?

She trails off after realizing she is now alone. She looks around, breathing heavier and looking nervous

BETH

HEY?!

She yells out looking for someone to answer. She keeps walking forward aimlessly. After walking for a few minutes, she sees something in the dirt. She approaches thinking nothing of it. Shes surprised, and then we see her get chloroformed before the camera cuts to black and then shows the title.
