Initial Brainstorming/ Story Boarding

  Hello blog! My group and I are working on our opening clip and we're dabbling on a few ideas but let me tell you about our top one!  Title: “Betrayed Shadows”   Genre: Mystery, thriller   Characters: Beth Sinclair (protagonist), Julie Bennett (kidnapper/friend one), Dirk Derk (friend two)    Costuming: Protagonist wears - White tank top with a white flowy mesh see through shirt over it and some blue jeans and white shoes. Lowkey lighting .      Thought process- Our thought process behind the scenes was that we wanted to capture the chilling thriller of betrayal within a friend group and also the concept of a high school thriller. We discussed the setting being mostly in the forest, we found that to be the most mysterious setting for our story. Today we are going to analyze the editing work and transitions of the opening scene of "Titanic".   Fade- In Transition: (0:04-0:05) -A fade in transition is when the screen fades in from typically a black or white screen. This transition signifies the official opening of the scene, and it fades into a crowd of people waving to the ship which allows the audience to acknowledge the fact that the boat is leaving. The transition also gives the audience an idea of the size comparison between the ship and the people so in a way the ship looks intimidating to the audience.  Straight Cut: (0:11) This replaces the overall beginning scene, and it cuts to the crowd point of view. This makes it easier for the audience to see the enjoyment and feeling of excitement of the people on the boat and off the boat as well.
